Vice Head of the Department of Painting, Asst. Prof. Dr. Esra Aydın’s solo exhibition “Fictional Spaces” presents watercolor works that reinterpret the concept of space through memory, experience, and imagination. The exhibited artworks reconstruct houses, architectural forms, and urban fragments, offering viewers spatial narratives that are both familiar and transformative.
Through layered surfaces, fluid stains, and transparent color transitions, the works reveal space as a dynamic and evolving structure. The fluid nature of watercolor establishes strong connections between memory, belonging, and spatial perception throughout the exhibition.
The exhibition creates a visual line of thought extending from individual living spaces to urban memory, approaching space as a mental and emotional field of experience.
